I’m an American living in Kunming, China and recently purchased the Insight Guides for China and Southeast Asia. For the actual nuts and bolts of traveling, (e.g. addresses and phone numbers of lodgings, plus certain travel and adventure services) guides such as Lonely Planet may be more suitable. However, for photos and encyclopedic information on the countries and places one wants to know more about, the Insight Guides can’t be beat. Their very name says it all. They are packed with information on the history, culture, sociopolitical situation, and sights found in each country. If you really want to know what makes each place truly unique (through history, anthropology, geography, etc) you could probably do no better than the Insight Guides.

Good book for the money. Very easy read and covers the basics of different types of business entities. With this I was able to narrow down the business structure I wanted, and used additional more in depth book to make my final decision. A great book for those like me that know nothing about business structures and starting a business.FYI.. once you decide on a business structure, you can call the appropriate dept on you state's website and they are helpful in letting you know how to make the entity yourself instead of spending hundreds online (e.g. LegalZoom) or paying a lawyer ($$$).

If you're trying to figure out just which legal organization type you need to choose to start your business, this is the book for you. It's short, to the point, and details the major pros and cons to starting your business in each business type. I bought and read half a dozen books (Ok, maybe I didn't finish them all, because some of them are so detailed, they actually overwhelmed me with info) on the subject before finding these little 100 page books. I was leaning toward starting an LLC, which I've started before (as well as an S-corp), but by the time I finished this book, much to my relief, I decided to start off as a sole proprietor using contractors, rather than setting up a complex structure that requires a LOT of paperwork each quarter (especially the S-corp). The author helps you think about your needs and gives you the salient details about what's useful and not so useful in each organization type. The book is written in a very conversational tone which I found comforting. I went through the entire book in 2 sittings of about 1-2 hours each sitting.

I have several books by this author. He is a master at simply explaining complex IRS tax code, analyzing it and in layman's language communicating info that has helped me immensely in knowing how to minimize our taxes. He has a free email you can sign up for online that is very informative about taxes, investing and other financial matters. All his books are small size and about 100 pages, sort of like a Readers Digest version, and very useful.

While a nice short intro on LLC's, you could get into some trouble if this is the only book you read. Consider reading "Nolo's Quick LLC: All You Need to Know About Limited Liability Companies (Quick & Legal) " instead of (or at least with) this book.

As a lawyer, I have all of the necessary books which cover these topics, but what makes this title valuable is that it offers a quick and concise review. This book is full of practical advice, which is what my clients look for.

Easy to understand and helpful for making a decision about the best entity for your business. After reading this book, I was able to have a more intelligent and informed conversation with my CPA for planning purposes.

This is one book you can judge by the cover; Simple, short and to the point. If you want to gain a good basic understanding of your different options concerning an LLC, S or C Corp I highly recommend this short read. It's not the answer to all your questions nor does it claim to be. It does however give you a good understanding of your options before speaking with your financial advisor, CPA or legal advisor. It does a great job of breaking down the basics so you'll have a much better understanding when you make these important decisions.Cheap, short read that could help save you financially in the future.

If you need to know more about the differences between business structures (sole proprietorships, partnerships, LLCs, S Corporations, C Corporations, etc... Mike Piper's book is the place to start. In less than an hour, you will begin to command a practical level of knowledge about each structure. Armed with this, you can confidently pursue deeper knowledge as required. The book reads easily so you don't get wrapped up in legal jargon. I found the book provided a sound foundation from which to build. Considering the Kindle price and ease of access - it is an exceptional bargain. Buy with confidence.

I'm not very far into reading it, but so far the reading is very comprehensible. It seems to be organized well. I wish there were more illustrations, such as showing pathways through the body, etc. Otherwise, I like the book and I'm using it constantly for the class. It is not a book you just buy and then put on your shelf.
