This book is written in the language of you and I.One can tell that James was definitely guided by Spiritto write these words.The book bridges the gap between worlds,between what we call life and the illusion of death.It puts us in touch with our loved ones who have passed and those here, and leads to a greater understanding of just how close we all are.Spirit and those who have passed wished to touch our hearts and our minds, through James inspired words they do and once read not one of us will never to be the same.It is a wonderful book, James personal style has made this an easy read, yet it is full of profound and awesome new information from the other side.This is a book that you will not want to put down and will most probably keep to reread again and again.For I believe these simple, yet extremely new and profound words will impact you over and over again.

I used to read books written by psychics all the time, but it's been quite a while. I saw this book and I've always liked James Van Praagh, so I got it. I enjoyed this book very much. In fact, I have a website and I actually stopped reading, to add another page to my site about guilt. I realized that absolutely everything happens for a reason. There are so many people that have some kind of guilt, over their loved one's passing. There's no reason for it. It's all part of the plan. Even better......the part where we think that our loved one's are dead, but they say that they are much more alive and aware, than we are. Thanks James!!

I just finished this book. I really enjoyed reading it. My mom crossed over a little over a month ago and I'm on an emotional roller coaster I can't seem to slow down or get off. I've always been intrigued by James Van Praagh and his abilities. This book allowed him the forum to provide an in-depth analysis of readings that help the audience better understand and overcome struggles with guilt, regret, anger, denial and blame that often arise after suffering the devastating loss of a loved one. All the lessons in the book are "taught" or guided by spirits who relay messages through James to their family members and friends. Because the lessons of forgiveness, taking the "high road," doing unto others and letting the past stop ruling the present are meaningful to those still on the earth plane, this book is a wonderful learning tool for anyone who wishes to reinvent their life and live more authentically. I found the prose and insights incredibly detailed and fresh. I also love that James wrote the book within the context of his own discovery of the meaning behind a recurring dream - a dream that ultimately led him to title his book "Unfinished Business." To his credit, James also provides one of the most coherent and beautifully articulated descriptions of God I have ever read (pg. 160). While virtually impossible to rid ourselves of the negative emotional ties that bind us over night, James contends it's essential we liberate ourselves from them now to the best of our abilities lest we fall victim to taking our unfinished business with us into the spirit realm when we ourselves pass on.

I enjoy James Van Praagh books, I have always believed that that everything happens for a reason. Many people have some type of guilt, and regret over their loved one's passing. In his book Praagh explains that carring the guilt is not necessary; especially when we cannot change, we much accept and move on. Learn from the mistakes and press on in life making sure the same mistake will happen again. A lot of the guilt and regret we have was done by our own choices.

I think someone from the other side must have led me to this book. I've read several of his other books in the past and they changed the way I view death and dying. His description of the after-life spoke to my soul. It's as if what I already knew was completely confirmed by his writings. When I read, it's as if I am brought back "home" to where I belong when I'm not on this Earthly existence.This book is exactly what I needed right now in my life. I am currently facing a lot of stress with my mom, who is facing a very hard recovery from an infection that has left her bed ridden in a hospital for more than a month now. She isn't fighting to recover and my level of guilt has caused a lot of heartache, especially when I try to sleep at night.I read this book and am reminded of the fact that I have to let my mother make her own choices and I am not responsible for the path she chooses to take. It is hers and hers alone to resolve... her own plight, not mine. I can support her, encourage her, but the guilt isn't eating away at me anymore. All because of this book.If you don't believe in Mediums, this book just isn't for you. Skeptics have no right to review this book as their opinions don't really count towards the validity of the stories James shares in this book.He is a great inspiration to those who need him, whom can be helped by him.If you have belief in James, this book is one of the essential reads. Period. Read it, learn from it, and live your life the way you need to live it - not based on misplaced guilt and anger.

I downoaded it as soon as I was notified it was available as I had preordered it! I settled in and read the whole book in one setting! I just could not put it down! I do this with each and every one of Sarah Woodbury's After Cilmeri series books! I have read each of the books in this series 25+ times (I stopped counting with 25). I just love them! I get something new each time I reread one! Given time, I will read this one the same way!The characters of Michael and Livvia were very interesting and the more I read into the book, I could see them becoming a team and partners! It will be interesting as the story goes on what happens to them! The story is very, very intereting and answers some of the mystery left from the last book! But, leaves mystery going on from this book to the next one at the same time! In other words, the story continues! It just grabs you the first one in the series on to this end of this one and doesn't let go! Of course, now, I can't wait for the next book! LOL! Great job, Sarah Woodbury! Another great book in this After Cilmeri series! Thank you! Blessings!

Wonderful book in the series! I cannot understand why anybody would not think so. Exciting, as always, and the climax was AWESOME! Go Livia! I fisted to the ceiling on that one. Love the way Sarah does that. You DO need to read Shades of Time, then Champions of Time first to get the whole story, and each one is a whole book, so it can’t be just one huge book. Things going on are going on simultaneously, which is understandable since we have Earth One and Earth Two we are dealing with. I don’t know how Sarah does it, to tie things together so well, and give the FULL story. There is time travel going on, adjustments for both those who are “Twenty-firsters” as they call themselves, and those who are Medieval characters that fall into the future. Those of us who love and appreciate Sarah Woodbury’s writing, imagination, and story telling can’t wait for each book to come out. I personally would LOVE to see this After Cilmeri series made into a TV series like they have done with Outlander and Game of Thrones. It has a different tone and excellent cast of characters. NO SEX! It just isn’t necessary because the stories and plots stand by themselves. There is always romance with the main characters, but the intensity of the battles to be fought, the intrigue and the thoughts and feelings of the characters are what drives the stories forward. And the HUMOR! Can you imagine just how funny someone from the future might encounter situations that when they are facing something, the humor of the situation just might come out? Sarah does this throughout her books, and I for one, just love the way she manages to always bring the emotions out in the reader. I own each and every book and have re-read the series over 3 times now, starting on my 4th, now that I have read all the books.

This is a great story tying together several of the last few books in the "After Climeri" series by Sarah Woodbury. Historical and contemporary settings, time travel, intrigue, adventure, featuring some of our loved characters from the series and introducing and developing an understanding of those we knew but had been somewhat in the background. I couldn't put it down... I will go back for another leisurely read soon and am very eager for the Audible version which always brings another layer of enjoyment to the story. Fans don't miss out on this one and those who have not read this series before... DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and read them all! You will be like the rest of us who hang out for our next adventure in between Medieval Wales and the present day to check in our favorite group of world shifters!

Sarah’s done again. Excellent book. Lost of fast action. Plot keeps you thinking and on your toes. Mystery to figure out. some old characters finally taken care of. I can’t wait to see what happens next in earth two. I like the way the last few books happened concurrently.

Love this series! It is always a ‘treat’ for me to read the next book! I find the characters very relatable and the plot of each book very interesting. This book was no different, and I’m kind of sorry I binge-read it all in one day. I am an avid reader and most books I wouldn’t care to read a second time, but this series is one of my go-to favorite series. I have read or listened at least a dozen times—looking forward to many more books!

Sad to say, this entry into the after Cilmeri series was disappointing. The plot line was thin and repetitive. There was little in the way of character development. What was the point supposed to be? Maybe it’s time to end this series, even without a revelation of the reason an unseen force is playing football with our intrepid time travelers. And I really would like to know.

I was very pleased to see both Michael and Livia featured. One of Cadell's moments had me snorting with laughter and chuckling hours later just thinking about it. The suspenseful chase scenes were particularly thrilling. The uncertainty surrounding the motivations of some of the characters is masterfully written (especially considering the inclusion of chapters from Chad's point-of-view).

Excellent new installment in an amazing series! Sarah Woodbury does not disappoint. Her characters traveling between medieval Wales and present day is masterful. And fun. And keeps you turning the pages and reading as fast as you can to see what happens next!

Fuller’s book, “A Day in Prison: An Insider’s Guide to Life Behind Bars,” provides an in-depth description of a typical prison day, in addition to numerous tips on how to stay safe as an inmate.Fuller draws on his 10 year experience in several federal prisons and county jails to list unwritten rules inmates live by. He offers practical advice on having conversations with other inmates, dealing with the commissary, phone calls, prison jobs, gangs, weapons, toilet etiquette, drugs, and visitation. His advice is for prisoners and families and provides a wealth of information that may make this strange and difficult journey a bit easier for all.Some of the takeaways: trust no one, keep a neutral face and don’t make eye contact, don’t accept gifts or favors from other inmates, don’t snitch, stay away from gangs, read, take classes, and write. I love Kendall Ryan, she's always a one click for me so I was really disappointed when this book fell totally flat. The writing felt rushed and amateur, the story felt way too quick and the insta-love was a huge turn off. It also iust kind of felt gross (Spoiler below)Nic sleeps with Elle without a condom, without ever telling her that hes a "male escort" who regularly sleeps with his clients. That to me just screams yuck, and I thought it was incredibly disrespectful. Beyond that the entire story kind of leads up to her finally finding out hes a male escort and it was not even an exciting climax. She gets told and is like "oh I feel so stupid, I should have known." Should have known? Who in their right mind would ever expect that? And then all he does is apologize and says he loves her after literally 4 dates of straight lying to her and shes like "oh he loves me? Hes so sexy I cant resist!" Like really? Have some self respect! Then shes more appalled that hes never done oral with a client then anything else. This book fell completely flat, honestly wish I could get my money back. I skipped the last 2 chapters because the whole thing was just completely ridiculous. Disappointed for sure, hope Kendall Ryan's next release is nothing like this one.

Found the title from another author's recommended reading list, so maybe the issues I have with the author's writing are what she's known for, so take my subjective review for what it's worth.The writing and dialogue is childish and simplistic and does not read at all like adult level reading, more like middle school, all telling no showing. The plot of a male escort falling in love with a client had potential, but it wasn't treated with enough respect and that lack of respect made it a difficult read for me to get into practically from the first couple of chapters. His best friend isn't a successful business owner--he's his pimp who owns a brothel. Sexism from page one, trying to make it seem more acceptable and legit just because it's all male? Immediate red flag.My issues (from a person who thinks sex workers should be legalized, taxed, and provided protections like any other industry employee who provides a service), he's a male escort, he gets paid to have sex with women, yet he vehemently protests that he's NOT a prostitute. Yes, yes you are. Own it. Don't give me a hero who's proud that he's constantly in demand for his "services" then try to make me believe he's got a bleeding heart I should care about because he's ashamed of his work and not a prostitute because he has lunch once a month with a 'grandma' client who he doesn't sleep with. When he had sex without a condom TWICE with the heroine without telling her about his work, that made me absolutely hate him. And his rule about not kissing clients because it's too intimate (Julia Roberts did it first and better in PRETTY WOMAN, thanks) and no oral, right...high end professional female clients pay him thousands of dollars a night and tolerate their male prostitute not providing oral sex or kissing because HE doesn't want to?The heroine, ugh. Whiny, Shallow, Superficial (he's soooo sexy, nearly every other sentence), self-deprecating wimp. I get it, she's curvy, don't repeatedly tell me that every other page. Women come in all shapes and sizes, including thin, thick, heavy, curvy, whatever. We're all beautiful inside and out, EXCEPT when you have women bashing and body shaming other women! Heroine's ex is a dick, insults her to her face, dumps her and shows up at her brother's wedding with a new girlfriend who she and her soon to be sister in law immediately start insulting and body shaming "bitch," "scrawny new girlfriend", and hero mentally criticizing her ex for not being as tall a him and "thinning on top". No chance the new girlfriend had no idea what the ex did? But of course all women hate other women and we're ok and should support that, right?When she finds out she was lied to, for their entire time they were together, he meets her at a coffee shop, they have about a 10 second, 4 sentence conversation where he apologizes, she forgives him then straight back to her place for sex. Seriously? And don't get me started on how she's constantly hitting his arm "playfully" I hate women who do that. Would you put up with a guy constantly smacking a girl on the arm? Use your words to express yourself, and I'm supposed to believe the heroine went to and graduated from law school??Maybe this is what this author is known for: fast, shallow, simple completely implausible stories with unrealistic, totally unlikable characters, but definitely not worth my time or my money. A disappointed buy.

This book had so much promise and started out so well, it just didn’t finish strong. I was kinda disappointed because I really enjoyed the first 3/4 of the story.I loved the chemistry between Nic and Elle. It was so strong and watching them get to know each other was wonderful. I especially liked Nic, even though I didn’t like his choice of profession. Being with Elle made him feel like himself again and wanting for more from life. I was rooting for him all along. Elle has come out of a bad relation with a horrible man and was going to have to face him with his new girlfriend had a brother’s wedding. Her friend, and soon to be sisters-in-law, hires Nic to be her date to make her ex jealous. That’s where their relationship starts.What I didn’t like was Elle’s beast friend, Christine! She was a bitch! She treated Nic like trash just because she hired him and I don’t think she treated Elle like a best friend should! I’ve never disliked a character more! I also felt like the whole book lead up to Elle finding out that Nic was an escort and was anticipating how that was going to go down. Then, in my opinion, it was resolved too quickly. I mean, what woman would just let that go with a short, simple conversation? I’m glad it was resolved, but I feel like there should have been more to it.I did enjoy the majority of the book, just disappointed by the last few chapters.

But, instead of the human individual, this is mindfulness of our Earth using the vastness of geologic time as its vehicle. The writing is masterful, using creative metaphors and analogies to make the fundamentally complex science relatable. The book does require an insatiable thirst and steadfast patience to understand the intimate linkage between the physical and the biological Earth. Geo-scientists now increasingly using the term Earth systems science. Dr. Bjornerud’s book defines that approach. However, this is not a fast read. Some of the science presented is complex to the uninitiated but cleverly explained using every-day language. As an experienced geo-scientist myself, I re-examined numerous passages multiple times to appreciate the author’s messaging. And, fully understanding the contents does require some life experience (wisdom). Like the words of Shakespeare, which appear at the beginning of several chapters, the thoughts the author presents require pensive moments to understand their meaning and relationship to human activity. I cannot think of a better introduction of the amazing planet we inherited and particularly what it means to us when our existence here lasts for only a relative microsecond as compared to the enormity of time.

I'm an avid reader of non-fiction science, and this is one of the best books I've encountered in quite some time. The writing is clear and concise, but with lots of helpful metaphors and analogies. Previously I would have said geology is one of my least favorite sciences (almost passed on buying the book), but now I have gained a much greater appreciation for how comprehensive it is. Lots of information presented in an easy and casual manner. Hard to believe so much included in a scant 180 pages or so of text. My highest recommendation.

Bjornerud makes geologic thinking accessible for everyone. She zooms out, geographically and temporally, to give us greater perspective on our current times. With her help, I've found geologic thinking to be a valuable lens for viewing our environmental, political and social issues. My background is in economics and I found her criticism of 'pure', theoretical sciences (chiefly economics, physics and chemistry) illuminating: "They are pure in being essentially atemporal - unsullied by time, concerned only with universal truths. Like Plato's 'forms,' these immortal laws are often considered more real than any specific manifestation of them." She succeeds at showing the limits of such abstractions. As they say, in theory, theory is the same as reality. In reality, it's not.I'm often comforted by her perspective on our plights: "Growing old requires one to shed the illusion that there is only one version of the world" and "The grandeur [of nature] has always included us; we have simply tormented ourselves with the idea that we are outside the garden" and her skepticism of environmental panaceas: "What on early makes us think we can control nature on a global scale, when we haven't even learned to control ourselves?"I immediately picked up her prior book, Reading the Rocks, after finishing Timefulness. It's also exceptional. Thank for the thoughtful contributions Marcia.

This is a book of science, told so a layman can understand it, and told without passion or drum beating; but told firmly and in a "grandmotherly" way, as to consequences and impact of our disregard for the consequences of our "mastery" of the environment..Professor Bjornerud begins by describing and narrating Earth Time, providing an overview of the geological ages of this planet. Her narrative completely reinforces and humbles one into the reality of a tamped down ego and our being a totally insignificant speck, less in size than a grain of sand, But as history unfolds, a speck that influences negatively, the planet.The author describes the creation of the earth, and the formation of the crust of the earth, and the tectonic plate movements. While this may seem familiar, Professor Bjornerud provides a running commentary on the history of knowledge of the earth and how it has changed over recorded history as our knowledge, observational skills and insights and technology have provided information to reshape our understanding, constantly and in so many exciting way. Following the creation of the Earth, she devotes herself to explaining the development of Air, complimenting the history its information wiyh the interactions of the crust of the Earth and the Waters, impacting the Air content.The development of CO2 and O in our atmosphere are very recent events. Her description of how the discovery of ancient air occurred, is truly enlightening. The balance that Nature maintained between presence and exchange, or more correctly the consistency of air quality and CO2, is a sobering story. Also when she explains the non consistency of climate, forever, the Professor puts into perspective how we have created a rather unhealthy situation for life, at this moment, as the order of magnitude of CO2 in the atmosphere is beyond any reasonable historical predictive model.Reading the story of billions of years of Earth time can only be described as a revelatory moment. Professor Bjornerud then devotes an extremely insightful chapter to the question of "what can we do?" She is not a person advocating radical stifling of capitalism, and returning to tribal hunting and foraging. She develops several approaches in a multi-pronged analysis. A contemplative person is illustrated boldly.The only reason I will not give it an Amazon 5 is because of her digressive berating of personal irritants of knowledge and the scientific method. Specifically, she devotes many, many pages denouncing students of Creationism as if she has to prove their errors rhetorically, illustrating her debating skills and ability to 'put down' others who challenge her. She is wasting her time. And throughout the book, there are digressive and sarcastic comments about colleagues or other academics with whom she is disgusted; example , page 135 speaking of an scientist, she says, "...in my view, he should have an asterisk next to his name in the annals of science, like an athlete whose medals was rescinded for doping" and continues with a rather unflattering reference.
